Blood Sacrifice

 The Mayans practiced a sacrificial ritual as the Aztecs, by slicing open a victim’s chest and removing the heart dripping with blood to offer to the gods,also they practiced decapitation.They felt was necessary to feed the gods and keep the world alive.

The Ancient Mayas lived in the Yucatán around 2600 B.C. Today, this is southern Mexico,
Guatemala, northern Belize and western Honduras. The Mayas were the developers of the science of astronomy, calenders and hieroglyphic. The Mayans created calenders with amazing accuracy and complexity.They were also know for creating ceremonial architecture such temple and pyramids.The Ancient Mayans were a very religious people they had many different god and many rituals and ceremonies such as human sacrifice.
